Logo vs. Brand Identity vs. Brand Strategy
The terms and descriptions below are often misused and can be confused even by those who have spent a long time in the sector.
That’s why we’ve prepared a guide that creators and brands can glance at quickly. Before you get to the guide read these notes for brands and creators
#1 For Brands
Understand the scope of the project and choose accordingly. Knowing the scope of your business and what you are looking for will help you search for the right one and save you time and money.
#2 For Creators
Position yourself for what you do, not what others do. If you offer a specific service, position yourself accordingly. If you are a logo designer, do not waste your time getting jobs in the field of brand strategy.
We hope that getting these terms right will help both parties choose carefully for their next creative project.
Logo
A logo is the most niche and specific item related to the brand. Some leading brand experts can say that it is the smallest particle of a brand.
For example, logo designers only design logos and specialize in logo design. (Sometimes they can also assume color and typography.)
Brand Identity
Brand Identity however means “one click” more than a logo. It is the strategic creation of all visual elements for the brand. E.g.; logo, color, typography, image style, etc.
Also, it is about designing the overall look and feel of a brand.
Brand Strategy
Brand strategy is to research the market and create a plan to influence the views and purchasing decisions of the target audience.
This strategy can be related to the positioning of the basic values, communication conditions with customers, vision, mission, and target audience of a brand.
